There’s no better way to explore Fenwick Island than from the water. Rent a boat from Coastal Kayak and the friendly staff will give you all the help you need, from safety instructions to the best routes to take, and have you on your way in no time at all.
Paddle around Little Bay, Little Assawoman Bay, Indian River Bay, and lots of waterways in between, taking in the breathtaking viewsas you go. If you’re not too confident or you want to make sure you see the best of Fenwick Island, they offer guided tours as well.
Fenwick Island State Park
Spread over 344 acres and sandwiched between Bethany Beach and Ocean City, Fenwick Island State Park is anexpansivearea of stunning natural beauty along Delaware’s coast.
The park is essentially one long stretch of golden sand, allowing visitors to sunbathe on the shore or take up the challenge of the waves. There aren’t a lot of Delaware beaches with a designated surfing area;Fenwick Island State Park is one of them,which makes it ever popular with water sports enthusiasts who flock here to take advantage of the world-class waves. If you fancy a stroll, there is also a fantastic boardwalk along the dunes and even a gift shop for some souvenirs.
DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum
Hidden away above a souvenir shop, from the outside the DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum appears rather unassuming. Once you enter, however, you’ll be blown away by the extensive and lovingly curated exhibitions of treasures from the deep, all discovered by the museum’s owner himself. Entrance is free, though be sure to put what you can in the donations box.
Golf Down Under
Mini-golf is a classic vacation activity, so be sure to take advantage of Gold Down Under, an Australia-themed mini-golf course thatnever disappoints. The course is well-designed and a lot of fun, the equipment is well-maintained, and you’ll even be treated to a free ice cream on your way out! Enthusiasts should take advantage of the multiple day passes which are great value if you’re planning to make repeat visits.
Shark’s Cove Marina
There’s plenty to keep the whole family happy at Shark’s Cove Marina. Go parasailing and enjoy an adrenaline rush and aerial views of Fenwick Island, rent a pontoon boat and spend a lazy day fishing, or see how long you can last on the banana boat. Whatever you choose, you’re bound to have a blast.
Viking Amusements and Thunder Lagoon Waterpark
Find six slides, a 400-foot Lazy River ride, an 800-foot kids pool and so much more at Viking Amusements and Thunder Lagoon Waterpark. The park is a big hit with kids and adults alike, not least for its family-friendly atmosphere and very reasonable prices. Handily, if you’re visiting with young ones, the park’s relatively small size means it’s easy to keep an eye on them while they play.
